For anyone as pumped about March Madness as I am, I found this excerpt frommmm a long time ago and thought it was also relatable to my Trevor Huffman Elite NMBA Basketball Academy and how to approach basketball training in general. One of my rules of thumb growing up was: Always try to compete against the best, because it helps you evaluate where you actually are.

This is what my NMBA basketball academy is about- I want college players playing against pros. I want high school playing against college. I want middle school playing against high school and so on and so on. Pushing yourself and seeing what the best do is a game changer because what you are doing might be a waste of time.

Most players and teams try not to find the best competition and measure themselves against it, but I believe finding confidence in yourself is done by tracking down the best players and teams and measuring your progress against them, whether you are an AAU, high school or collegiate basketball player or team, and then evaluating your personal game and going back to the drawing board. From there you can work out the kinks through high intensity training, specialized sports performance training, and a daily basketball skill development plan.

Terry Pluto kind of gets what I mean and sums up what I'm trying to say: being successful and learning to deal with failure go hand in hand, you can't have one without the other nor would you want too because the road to play college basketball is tough one.
